1.) September 4, 1839-August 29,1842 The first Opium war was fought between Britain and Qing Dynasty China. China Surrender and Britain annexed the island of Hong Kong.
2.) 1839-1940, Hong Kong has grown to be more culturally British and has grown massively from a small fishing villages to reasonable city with a bunch of British schools and churches.
3.) 1898 The British and Chinese have signed the Second Conviction of Peking saying that the British gets to keep Hong Kong and its surrounding islands for 99 years.
4.) December 8-25, 1941, Imperial Japan captured and occupied Hong Kong
5.) 1945 Japan has surrendered to the United States and returned the Hong Kong to the United Kingdom
6.) December 9th, 1984 Margret Thatcher has made agreement with the people's Republic of China that once the United Kingdom has handed over Hong Kong that the citizens of Hong are free to pursue their capitalist practice.
7.) July 1st 1997 Hong Kong was handed over from the United Kingdom to the People's Republic of China. China has implemented one party two system's regime.
